Korean War Memorial The Government Architect's Office is managing the procurement of an Australian Korean War Memorial on behalf of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The memorial will commemorate the Australian and Korean veterans of the War (1950 1953). A lasting tribute will be built in Sydneys Moore Park that honours a friendship forged through war, between two different countries, cultures and communities. The memorial design was the result of a design competition was won by Jane Cavanough in association with Pod Landscape Architects. Construction of the memorial will commence in the new year and is due for completion in July 2009. The memorial is being funded jointly by the NSW Government, Korean Government, Veterans groups and the community of Sydney.
